Dyslexia
West View Primary School was successfully awarded the Dyslexia Friendly Quality Mark in 2024.
This award is issued to schools who can demonstrate that they provide high quality education and practice for children with dyslexic tendencies. Obtaining the Quality Mark provides a framework for schools to improve their understanding of dyslexia and literacy difficulties as well as support to develop strategies that support the achievement and engagement of children with dyslexic tendencies.
Being a dyslexia-friendly school means creating an environment where children with dyslexic tendencies can succeed academically, emotionally and socially. It’s not just about providing accommodations—it’s about building a whole-school culture that understands and supports how children with dyslexic tendencies learn.
